Do you want to give your man some sexy photos of you? Well, it’s called Boudoir Photography and it’s the most intimate and romantic gift you can give your man.

There are times of the year, such as Valentine’s Day, Christmas, and anniversaries, when women often think it would be nice to give their partner a sexy photo or two of themselves. Unfortunately, the photographers who do this as a specialty are few and far between. Many who advertise it as an afterthought (not their specialty) don’t do the female form justice, and don’t really understand the subtleties of helping a woman relax for the camera while sitting on her pretty things underneath. Photographing weddings or babies is a long way from understanding how to pose and light a woman to look like a center page model.

The following points will help you find the right photographer for you.

Do your research. How long has the photographer been in business? Not just what it says in your advertising. Do a Google search on the name of your studio; Literally, page after page of search results should appear. If he or she has been in business for, say, 10 years or more, there should be a lot of search results just by typing their name. If you can’t find much about them, they likely haven’t been around for long.

Your comfort. In a session like this, very little matters more than your comfort. If you are uncomfortable with the situation or the photographer, it will show in your expression. If you are not comfortable, your photos will not turn out as well as if you were relaxed and confident. Absolutely talk to your photographer before your shoot. If he can’t look you in the eye or speak confidently when answering your questions, thank him for his time and move on to the next photographer. If at any point in the conversation you feel ‘scared’ or weird, it’s a sign that you don’t have the right photographer. Your comfort with it is of the utmost importance.

“Can I bring a friend?” The answer to this question is a double-edged sword. Some women like to take a friend with them for moral support or to help them feel more relaxed. If you think you need to bring a friend to protect you, you have chosen the wrong photographer. The reason I say it’s a double-edged sword is because it turns out that trying to be sexy for the camera is usually easier in front of a non-judgmental stranger than in front of your best friend. Many end up regretting bringing a friend, because they end up feeling strange acting in front of them. Or sometimes they get dizzy and can no longer show off the sexy and mysterious look they were hoping for. This happens in my studio with more than half of the women I photograph who bring a friend with them.

Know in advance what you get for your money. At this point in your life, you should probably understand that the most expensive is not always the best, but at the same time, the cheapest is usually the cheapest for a reason. They are probably the least qualified for the job. I cannot quote specific prices here as they will vary from city to city, state to state, and number of years in business. I can tell you that in most cases you can invest at least $ 400- $ 600 in a modest boudoir photography package. Many highly experienced high-end studios may charge a lot more, but they also offer some unique products like coffee table books and canvas wall portraits. As a point of reference, in my study, the average client can invest around $ 800.

Is retouching included? Some photographers charge more for it, others don’t. I think the price you pay should always include the retouching costs. You will want to touch up. Don’t think for a minute that makeup, lighting, and posing take care of everything. It doesn’t and never will. Not when you see so much skin. Baby photos are cute with rolls of grease, toilet photos are not. Stretch marks, shave bumps, misplaced hairs and yes, blemishes do happen and most of the time the only way to fix it is with digital retouching. If you think the women on magazine covers, models and celebrities, and Playboy center pages are coming straight off the camera looking like that, then you have something else to come. I myself know that if I was selling reality, I would have been out of business a long time ago. A well-done touch-up will improve your assets and minimize liabilities. Trust me, you’ll want to touch up.

Customer recommendations. Especially when you don’t know the photographer beforehand, make sure they have some kind of list of clients who are delighted with what they have done for them. A photo of the person and their full name, city, and state will make the testimony more credible. Look for phrases like “I can’t believe how comfortable I was” and “I was so relaxed and the photos came out so well.” Testimonials that are just a few words long and only have initials instead of a person’s full name are likely made up, or the photographer didn’t have permission to quote that person. I think the photographer’s website should be packed with testimonials from satisfied clients.

The guarantee. Very little in life is guaranteed. But a photographer who guarantees that his work produces a product that he is proud to stand behind. Any top-notch photographer offers a written satisfaction guarantee that you’ll either be happy to take the photos again or your money back. A written guarantee means that this photographer is confident not only in your abilities, but also that you will be happy with the photos you have created. Always ask about your warranty.

Samples of your work. This should go without saying. You just have to like what they have already done for other clients. Look for samples on their website for poses and lighting styles that you like. You should also look for women of your body type in the gallery. A good boudoir photographer should be able to flatter all body types, from short to tall, slim to round. I’ve often been told that I wish I had seen more big girls in your gallery. “However, the truth is that I have several women weighing around 200 pounds in my gallery. It is the pose and the lighting that make them look smaller. That is my job! Every lady deserves to look and feel like a a million dollars!

Following the few guidelines above should go a long way toward helping you find and ultimately get excited about your boudoir photographer. Most of these points can be used to find any service, not just boudoir photographers. Now if you’re ready, take those sexy pics!
