Removing tint from your windows has never been easier. All you need to do is have a newspaper, a cleaning sponge, and a palette of soapy water. Here are some easy steps on how to remove window tint using just soap and newspaper. Start by making a mixture of soap and water that you will use. Then use your household cleaning sponge to apply it to your window. Make sure the entire window surface is covered with soap and water.

Once all the window areas have been soaked with soap and water, you can now apply the newspaper to your window. Make sure it fits snugly on your window and that all tinted areas of the window are directly in contact with the newspaper you laid down. It doesn’t matter if the newspaper is old or new, as long as it’s a newspaper you can use.

Leave the newspaper in place for about an hour. If you see the newspaper slide off the window, reapply the soap and water mixture to the newspaper to further adhere to the tinted window. You can do this every 10-15 minutes to ensure that the newspaper is in contact with the tint films.

After about an hour, try to put the newspaper together with the tinted window film. If the stain doesn’t come off with the newspaper, carefully reapply the newspaper using the soap and water mixture and leave it for another hour.

Make sure the newspaper is damp every 10-15 minutes. Try removing the newspaper again after the allotted time. You should be able to remove it along with the tint this time.

If you can’t remove the stain with your hands, you can use a razor or squeegee to remove the newspaper and stain. It would be better to use a squeegee than a razor as it can damage the window. Do all the steps above until you are done with all the windows.

It would be best for you to use this stain removal method on a cloudy day, as the newspaper will tend to stay wet for a longer period of time, which is preferable for loosening the adhesive used when applying the stain. If you don’t want to go through the removal process yourself and have some money to spare, then hire a window tinting service as they can also remove the tints at an additional cost.
