The fluid transport system for different uses is known as plumbing. Appliances and accessories such as pipes, tanks, plumbing fixtures, and valves are used to pass fluids. General uses for plumbing include waste disposal, heating and cooling (HVAC), and portable water supply, but they have other uses as well.

Materials used for plumbing
Steel bands with wrapped sacred wooden logs were used for pipe plumbing, basically for main pipes. Today, most plumbing systems are made up of plastic, steel, copper, earth, cast iron, and steel.
Steel
Pipes like galvanized steel distribution pipes and portable water supply are mostly found with average pie sizes of 3/6 inch (9.5mm) to 2 inch (51mm). This system is hardly used today. Female tapered threads on couplers, elbows, valves, tees, and other accessories are connected using standard National Pipe Thread (NTP) male tapered threads. The cost of galvanized steel (also known as “galv” or “iron”) is much higher and they are not easy to handle due to the need for a pipe threader. To meet building code non-combustibility requirements, not typically found in apartment buildings, hotels, or other commercial applications. Existing “galvs” are still in general use. They are tough and durable to mechanical abuse.
Copper
They are generally used for domestic irrigation systems. The rise in the price of copper has dropped the demand for copper, which has also translated into an increase in the demand for PEX and stainless steel.
The plastic
Plastic is the most widely used product for domestic purposes and for drainage, waste and ventilation (DWV) pipes. The main types of pipe include: Polyvinyl chloride (PVC), which was invented experimentally in the 19th century but became practical in 1926.
